Vibe Mag did a story on hip hops 15 hottest arm candies and sitting at number 6 is Darlene Ortiz who was Ice T's wooza back in the late '80s and who appeared on the cover for his '88 album 'Power.'

She is widely considered as hip hops first credible limelight stealing rappers girlfriend, and starred in a few of his videos as well as mothering his child. He ended up leaving her in 2002 when for his current wife CoCo.

Darlene's straight up hood steez is cemented by her love of the high waist, heavy gold jewellery, thick long curly hair (and eyebrows) and a sexy self assured look on her face that spells business.

Her look reminds me of the court-side fashions in White Men Can't Jump which given the time, I want to watch and screenshot. High waisted lycra for life.

EVIL EYE INK

Coming from a Middle Eastern background, the Evil Eye has always been a prominent member of my family, whether worn around our necks or used as an excuse for some bad luck off the back of a dispute.

I stopped wearing mine for a few years, then put it back on a couple of months ago after a serious string of uncool incidents hit my life. Curve ball after fucking curve ball has seen 2010 be the year I declare myself Superwoman, assuming I actually get through it.

So rather than take the risk of forgetting to adorn myself each and every day with my faded eyeball and scummy chain, I've decided to cut out the morning middle man and get an evil eye tattoo.

I've scoured the net for a little while now looking for something decidedly 'un evil eye' as most variations err on the side of hippie which is something I definitely am not. Nearly all of my ink is in a rockabilly / traditional style which I am keen to continue as the collection grows.

Today I am stoked to have finally found my evil eye! I like it because it's way more traditional than bohemian or new age, and I can throw some heart felt words in it also. Maybe something to do with the fact the evil eye is potentially a silly superstition that my family have subscribed me to? More to come on that.

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to be invited to be part of a feature on street style in Australian girl gang magazine C.O.P.

The ladies photographed me at my pad and asked me about my distinct American street style and where the inspirations for my outfits comes from, and the thought process that goes into creating a look. If you want to jack my style ladies, then this is a must read. ;)

Above are the pages from the print publication, and here's a few more pics that were taken on the day (raw and untouched, obviously..) RIP my firey orange locks and warm summer tan. This shoot was back in January and it's interesting to see the development my steez has made in the last 9 months.

The shoot was super fun and I got to be super eccentric with my look which I do love to do. Thanks to the ladies for thinking of me and giving the love. My girl Mafia was also interviewed for the feature. Props.

I MISS SMOKING

I haven't had a cigarette in 2 weeks now and I don't even miss the nicotine... I do however miss the process of smoking, the breaks from my desk and look sexy sucking back and exhaling.

I REALLY like this ring by Insinuo and might buy it to fill the smokey void. It's even in gold! My fave! H8 u silver.

With Spring only a bounce away (read: shorts / other revealing clothing) this bike couldn't be arriving at a better time. Incidental exercise is the only type I can commit to, and my new house is conveniently located smack bam in the middle of nowhere meaning I will have to ride my sweet arse everywhere.

ACCLAIM MAG INTERVIEW WITH JOSHY D & MIKE GIANT

The new issue of ACCLAIM MAG hit the shelves this week and may I say it is looking mighty fine with the banging new logo and 90s vibing simple cover. I fucking love it, and with the hot Penthouse Pets on the cover it kinda looks like a Babysitters Club gone naughty!

This issue is themed around 'Friends' and I contributed a little Q&A in the back with Joshy D and Mike Giant of REBEL8. I interviewed the two back in Feb in SF in what was the most chill interview setting I think I've ever come across.

Sirah has such epic steez, I'm really down with her look. She is wearing honeybgold jewellery in both pics (these pics are from a shoot for the brand) which I am into as well. Those earrings have religious motifs which I like, very L.A. I like the Latino feel.

I also want this Egyptian ring from their collection. Dope.

Rockabilly is my other look (aside from ghetto), mainly for work but sometimes if I am going out to an appropriate gig,

It's a good look for a woman with ink to grow old gracefully with. Sadly looking like a chav at 40 was never going to cut it so this has been in the pipeline for a few years as a gradual merge. I like wearing a lot of Peter Pan collars, black and white, florals and tux tops as work wear when I feel the need to dress up for meetings etc.

Last Friday I went to a show to see a few bands and thought I'd rip it out. This is probably something I would wear to work or a meeting also. I really like it. I felt very womanly.

This pic below is from a shoot M.I.S.S. did with Nike and Cubannie Links wayyyy back in May 2008, but it's very the vibe I am feeling for the coming summer.

Lots of sportswear, midriffs, Cubannie Links fuck off massive bling (available at Dirty Rich) and slick hair with decorations.

This is me back in November 2007 in my fave Nike singlet. It'll be on high rotation again this year. I can feel it.

I came across this L.A. based label Barracuda tonight and I really like their take on the L.A. logo.

Most takes are generally all ghetto and rap and shot guns so this is a cool tropical Venice Beachy interpretation which I really like.

LINDSAY LOHAN x KAWS FOR COMPLEX

Lindsay Lohan definitely isn't one of my favourite celebrities, mainly because I think she's got a whack personality, but physically I think she is gorgeous especially when she has a bit of meat on her. You know me and curvy redheads, I'd date myself if I could.

Kaws is an old school favourite, and his bikini collab with Married to the Mob will remain one of my fave cossies of all times.

I like the cartoon nature of his work and all the character spoofs he's done on the likes of Spongebob and The Simpsons.

Complex Magazine is a downright fave and their artist collabs are usually so on the money. Kid Cudi and Augor in 2009 was my fave.

This 3 way collab confuses me however and I don't feel it in its entirety. I love the styling on Lindsay, the Wonderwoman esque outfits are stunning and I think they look great on her. However Lindsay does not model well when she is trying to be / directed to be 'sexy.' Her face looks sleazy and cheap and I don't think the playful style of Kaws work suits her 'fuck me' eyes.

For an artist that makes toys and paints bubbly cartoons, and an actress who is less than bubbly, I feel a better collab could have been done.
